Wondering About Cell Groups?

Cell Groups are small groups of people who gather around a specific topic, provide mutual support through intentional community building, prayer and shared project beyond the group. As the cell is the most basic unit of the human body, Cell Groups are designed to be the most basic unit of a congregation. Cell Groups generally focus on a specific topic (such as Christian parenting or a book study or spirituality in the workplace) or come together for a common purpose (such as providing pastoral care or sharing music during worship). Cell Groups have a set timeline with opportunities for members to exit or enter at specific times. Cell Groups allow members of the congregation to get to know one another outside of the context of Sunday worship and provide marvelous opportunity for the Holy Spirit to move amongst its members.

Study and Cell Groups:
Sign-up in the Friendship Room for these upcoming groups:

Allen VanderWell:  Rethinking the Jesus Prayer
Monday, May 12 and Monday, May 17.

In these sessions we will be discussing the prayer we pray each Sunday, the prayer that "Jesus taught." We will be looking at the prayer as having been prayed by an Orthodox Jew, Jesus, as seen through the eyes of a contemporary New Testament scholar who is also an Orthodox Jew.

Rev. Catherine MacLean:  Sabbatical
We will examine the religious roots of sabbatical and how we might engage these principles. You may have retired with wisdom to bring to our group. You may be currently on sabbatical and welcome a time to reflect. You may be anticipating sabbatical and enjoy company as you make plans.
